Which one to pick

Choose Apollo if

  • You want search, enrichment and sequences in one tool, priced per seat from $49 a month billed annually.
  • You enrich at volume through the API: paid plans allow 1,000 enrichment calls a minute with no daily cap.
  • You want people search by API that costs no credits on paid plans.
  • You want company data with funding, technologies, job postings and news from the same API.

Choose RocketReach if

  • You need personal emails as well as work emails from a lookup.
  • You want phone numbers without per-phone credits: Pro and Ultimate include verified phones under fair use.
  • You prospect US healthcare contacts and want NPI and licence data (Ultimate).
  • You run batch lookups of up to 100 people with results pushed to a webhook.

If neither fits: If you only need a verified work email for a known list, a pay-per-result email finder can cost less than a seat or a yearly export allowance.

Questions people ask

Is RocketReach cheaper than Apollo?

They price differently. Apollo Basic is $49 a seat a month billed annually with 30,000 credits a seat a year. RocketReach Essentials is $399 a year with 1,200 exports, and Pro is $899 a year with 3,600 exports and phones included. Count how many contacts you export in a year and compare on that.

Are RocketReach's unlimited emails really unlimited?

A fair-use policy applies: RocketReach sets a monthly limit of 10,000 lookups, and each plan has a yearly or monthly export allowance, which API lookups use.

Do Apollo and RocketReach charge for a lookup that finds nothing?

Apollo charges credits only when billable data is returned. RocketReach refunds a lookup when it does not find and verify an email or phone.

Do Apollo and RocketReach have MCP servers?

Yes. Apollo's is at https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp and RocketReach's at https://mcp.rocketreach.co/mcp, both signed in with OAuth. On RocketReach's server, person and company search use no credits.

Why does a RocketReach API lookup not return the email straight away?

Person lookups are asynchronous: the first response can show a searching status. Poll the status endpoint or register a webhook to receive the result.
