Which one to pick

Choose Apollo if

  • You need prospect data and outreach in one seat: over 240 million contacts, emails at 1 credit each and sequences on every plan.
  • You want people search through the API at 0 credits, which needs a paid plan from US$49 a seat a month billed annually.
  • You want a built-in US dialer and mailbox buying without adding another tool.
  • Your agents need search and enrichment through an official MCP server.

Choose HubSpot if

  • You want a CRM as the system of record and to start free: up to 2 users, no credit card.
  • You load records in bulk: batch upsert takes 100 records per call and the Imports API takes up to 80,000,000 rows a day.
  • You need webhook subscriptions on record changes, retried up to 10 times over 24 hours.
  • Your team wants calling minutes, workflows and, from Professional, sequences inside the CRM.

If neither fits: If the real job is only getting verified work emails for a list you already have, a dedicated email finder may be the simpler route. Load the results into whichever CRM you keep.

Questions people ask

Is Apollo software free?

Apollo has a Free plan at US$0 with 75 credits a seat a month (900 a year), 2 sequences and Gmail-only sending. Paid plans start at Basic, US$49 a seat a month billed annually or US$65 billed monthly. On a Free account, people search through the API returned 403; Apollo's message says all paid plans include full API access.

Is Apollo.io safe to use?

Apollo's privacy policy says it is certified under ISO 27001 and SOC 2. Its terms limit use to your own internal business purposes, bar reselling the data and bar using any API with LinkedIn automations. Apollo also prohibits AI model training through its MCP server.

Can Apollo replace HubSpot as a CRM?

Apollo stores contacts, accounts, deals and tasks, and its API can create and update them in bulk. HubSpot is built as the system of record: free for up to 2 users, batch upserts of 100 records per call, an Imports API for large loads and webhook subscriptions on record changes. Apollo documents only per-request webhooks for enrichment results.

Does Apollo integrate with HubSpot?

Yes. Apollo lists HubSpot among its integrations, and its pricing page lists CRM integrations from the Basic plan. Apollo's bulk create contacts endpoint also accepts a HubSpot id for matching and deduplication.

Which one has an MCP server for AI agents?

Both have official remote servers. Apollo's is https://mcp.apollo.io/mcp, with OAuth or an API key header, and covers prospect search, enrichment, CRM records and sequences. HubSpot's is https://mcp.hubspot.com, with OAuth through a user-level app, and covers your contacts, companies, deals, tickets and engagements.

How do the API rate limits compare?

Apollo counts limits per team: on paid plans enrichment runs at 1,000 requests a minute with no daily cap, and database search at 200 a minute and 50,000 a day. HubSpot counts per app and per account: 100 to 190 requests per 10 seconds and 250,000 to 1,000,000 a day by tier, with CRM search at 5 requests a second.
