LinkedIn Ads
LinkedIn Ads are paid placements on LinkedIn, such as sponsored posts, message ads and lead generation forms, that can be targeted by job title, seniority, company, industry and uploaded account lists.
Also called: LinkedIn advertising, LinkedIn sponsored content
Why it matters
LinkedIn holds professional profile data that most ad platforms do not, so B2B teams can show ads to the roles and companies they sell to.
Formats include single image and video ads in the feed, carousel ads, document ads, message ads, thought leader ads that promote an employee's post, and lead gen forms that collect details without leaving LinkedIn.
Example
A company selling a data security product uploads a list of 400 target accounts and runs a short video ad to their security leaders. People who watch most of the video see a second ad offering an assessment through a lead gen form. Form fills go straight to the CRM and to the account owner.
Questions people ask
How do I measure the ROI of a LinkedIn ads funnel?
Connect the campaigns to your CRM so you can see which leads and accounts they touched, then compare spend with the pipeline and revenue from those accounts over a realistic sales cycle. Clicks and cost per lead are early signals, but on their own they do not show whether the ads produced deals.
