Comparison

Outreach vs Salesloft

Both are enterprise sales engagement platforms sold through sales, with no public prices and no self-serve trial. Outreach's API needs an OAuth app, allows 10,000 requests an hour per user and imports up to 100,000 items per bulk request; its MCP server can write. Salesloft accepts customer API keys, shares 600 cost points a minute per team, and its MCP server is read-only.

Which one to pick

Choose Outreach if

  • You load large volumes: up to 100,000 items per bulk request and 5 million records a day.
  • Several integrations run at once: the limit is 10,000 requests an hour per user, not shared across the team.
  • You want an AI agent that can create prospects, tasks and sequences through MCP.
  • You want webhooks you can filter by resource and action, signed with HMAC-SHA256.

Choose Salesloft if

  • You are a customer who wants a plain API key with scopes instead of building an OAuth app.
  • You want webhooks that retry on error: 3 more attempts, 15 seconds apart.
  • You only need read access from an AI assistant, and you already buy a Salesloft Agent package.
  • Your integrations are light and fit within a shared 600 cost points a minute.

If neither fits: Both are sold through sales with no trial. If you need to start sending this week with a published price and an API from day one, look at a self-serve cold email sender instead, and verify the list before you upload it.

Questions people ask

How much do Outreach and Salesloft cost?

Neither publishes a price. Outreach sells per user plus AI credits, and every Amplify tier says Request pricing. Salesloft's pricing page redirects to a Talk to Sales page. Verified 2026-10-25.

Can I try the Outreach or Salesloft API without being a customer?

Not directly. Outreach routes non-customers to an API access request form that it reviews, and its Developer Portal needs an existing Outreach login. Salesloft has no sandbox; API keys are created by a customer user, and partner apps are built inside a customer account.

Which has the higher API rate limit?

They are counted differently. Outreach allows 10,000 requests an hour per user. Salesloft allows 600 cost points a minute per team, shared by every connected app, with extra cost for page numbers past 100.

Can Claude update records in Outreach or Salesloft?

Outreach's MCP tool catalog lists 42 tools (its intro page says 32), including writes such as prospect_create, task_create and sequence_add_prospects, with permissions following the user's role. Salesloft's MCP server is read-only, in beta, and included only with Salesloft Agent packages.
