Pricing, plan by plan

US dollars, as BlitzAPI's pricing page shows them on 25 Oct 2026. Monthly and annual billing are shown apart.

Free tier Free trial: 1,000 free records every month, no card, 5 req/s per endpoint; Find Mobile & Direct Phone is not part of the trial (docs). Live check on our lapsed agency key showed 0 records and no allowed endpoints, so the monthly trial grant is not automatic on an expired workspace.

Prices in USD, billed monthly; no annual price published. Start and Scale self-serve; Build Your Infra and Embedded only via call. Accounts that subscribed under the launch offer (closed 2026-10-13) keep their price, speed and fair use while the subscription stays active (Terms 10.7).

Read max_requests_per_seconds from /v2/account/key-info and fair_usage.rate_limit on each metered response. SDKs retry 429 and 5xx (default 3 retries) but never retry read timeouts, because records may already be counted.

How to get an API key

BlitzAPI uses API key. The steps below follow BlitzAPI's own docs.

  1. Create a BlitzAPI account. API access starts on the Start plan.
  2. BlitzAPI dashboard at app.blitz-api.ai. The MCP server can sign in with OAuth instead, or take the same x-api-key header.
  3. Send it with every request: header: x-api-key: <key>.
  4. Make a first call: Key validity, records remaining, next reset, req/s per endpoint, allowed endpoints, active plans. Keep the key in an environment variable, never in the command.
    curl -X GET "https://api.blitz-api.ai/v2/account/key-info" \
      -H "x-api-key: $BLITZ_API_API_KEY"

Strengths and limits

Where it fits

  • High-volume list building at a flat monthly price (no per-lookup cost)
  • Pulling every employee at a company (Employee Finder) and best-fit contact cascades (Waterfall ICP)
  • Firmographic enrichment by company LinkedIn URL and domain<->LinkedIn identity resolution
  • Hiring-signal sourcing from 100M+ parsed job postings (jobs/search, jobs/company, TAM by Jobs)

Where it falls short

  • Reselling or redistributing data (standard terms do not grant it; only Build Your Infra)
  • Trusting current employer blindly: our measured runs found misattributed and stale employers
  • Unmonitored sweeps: throttling showed up as empty results rather than 429 in our tests

Worth knowing

  • Pricing model changed: Start $99 / Scale $499 / Build Your Infra from $999 / Embedded from $2,000 (annual), with monthly record caps. Our older notes list 'Unlimited Leads/Email/Phone' $399-$599 plans; launch-offer subscribers (closed 2026-10-13) keep their old terms only while subscribed. Sources: blitz-api.ai/pricing; docs.blitz-api.ai/guide/concepts/pricing
  • A valid key with no active plan returns 401 'You do not have access to this route', which looks like a bad key; call the free /v2/account/key-info first.
  • Building a product where outside users trigger Blitz calls needs Blitz Embedded (from $2,000/month annual); Start/Scale do not cover it. Source: blitz-api.ai/pricing
  • Read timeouts are not retried by the SDKs because the records may already be counted. Source: docs.blitz-api.ai/sdks/rate-limits
  • At the fair-use cap, calls pause until the next billing cycle; unused records do not roll over. Source: docs.blitz-api.ai/guide/reference/fair-use-policy

  • Rate limit is per endpoint, so parallelising across different endpoints is fine but hammering one is not. Source: docs.blitz-api.ai/sdks/rate-limits
  • Our measurements: unknown body keys are silently ignored (typo = unfiltered query); ~5,000-row depth cap per query; max_results max 50 (default 10); throttling surfaced as empty results with no 429; sustained sweeps needed ~1s between calls.
  • Our measurements: /v2/search/people returned misattributed and stale current employers (2026-10-04); verify employer before use.
  • Reselling Blitz data is not allowed on Start/Scale. Source: blitz-api.ai/pricing

Our take

We used Blitz heavily on its unlimited agency plan for company enrichment, people search, work emails and job-posting searches, and it is the fourth step in our email-finding waterfall. Its documented rate limit is a burst ceiling: throttling comes back as an empty result list with no error code, so long sweeps need to run well below it, with retries. Blitz emails carry no verification status, so we run every one through a separate verifier.
